Job Description

Under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and in coordination with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief ReStore Officer (CRO), the Marketing Director is responsible for the organization’s overall marketing strategy to increase brand awareness, donor engagement, volunteer recruitment, ReStore traffic, advocacy efforts and fundraising results at Habitat for Humanity of Tampa Bay Hillsborough.  

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the annual marketing plan.
  • Create integrated marketing campaigns and lead fundraising, ReStore, volunteer, advocacy, community outreach and homeowner prospect campaign strategies.
  • Establish annual marketing goals, key performance indicators and campaign calendars.
  • Coordinate organization-wide messaging.
  • Align marketing initiatives with Habitat Tampa Bay Hillsborough’s strategic plan.
  • Oversee website and social media content and messaging.
  • Manage search engine optimization, email marketing, CRM campaigns, paid advertising, media buying, public relations, and executive communications.
  • Measure campaign effectiveness.
  • Monitor website traffic, email performance, social media, advertising return on investment, and interactions and develop appropriate engagement and response strategies.
  • Manage marketing budget and vendors.
  • Provide strategic direction to the marketing team.
  • Manage vendor contracts and services from contracted marketing, public relations, and advocacy support services.
  • May supervise marketing team members.


Qualifications

  • Passionate about the Habitat for Humanity mission and purpose.
  • Ability to function effectively with a minimum of daily direction and support.
  • Can solve problems and make decisions independently in a creative and effective manner.
  • Ability to work directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere) and Canva.
  • Knowledge of basic HTML, website design, search engine optimization and content management (WordPress platform).
  • Experience implementing paid ads through Google, Meta, LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage projects within a team.
  • Can solve problems and make decisions independently in a creative and effective manner.
  • Strong understanding of social media marketing and experience using these channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn).
  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write and edit professional copy.
  • Familiarity with branding best practices.

Preferred skills

  • Desire to work towards Habitat’s mission.
  • College degree and/or 3 years of experience in a marketing-related field.
  • Ability to take initiative and make effective recommendations to staff and Board.

Physical work environment

This is a full-time exempt position.  The typical workweek is Monday – Friday with some evenings and weekends required. First 90 days of employment – employee is expected in the office full-time. 
A hybrid schedule is possible after 90 days of employment.

The work environment and physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in an office.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, tablets, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The associate performs the following activities: standing, walking; bending, squatting; using hands; reaching with hands/arms; listening; communicating; and lifting 50 pounds.
